I believe that when we are on the same page, therapy is more likely to be helpful to you. Here are a few questions you might have that I went ahead and answered below. If, after reading this, you think I’m a good fit for your needs, there are instructions for getting started at the bottom of the page.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Older adolescents, teenagers, and young adults who are experiencing challenges in navigating their complex social environments; those challenges include identity formation, peer pressures, perfectionism, body image, self-esteem, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, depression, and life transitions (moving from jr. high to high school, high school to college, and those launching into careers and adulthood.)

“I feel that adolescence has served its purpose when a person arrives at adulthood with a strong sense of self, the ability to relate intimately, communicate congruently, take on responsibility, and take risks. The end of adolescence is the beginning of adulthood. What hasn't been finished then will have to be finished later. “ —Virginia Satir.

Adults struggling with anxiety, PTSD, panic attacks, trauma, depression, life transitions, perinatal mood and anxiety, relationship difficulties(romantic, family, and friendship), attachment issues, loneliness, burnout, healing from the past, and self-esteem issues.

Parents and the array of parenting challenges. At times, I find providing parenting support without the child/children present can be the most effective way to equip the family for positive change and growth. We will discuss a specialized treatment plan and a road map forward in our work. Please refer to this link to learn details about my work with parents. Emotion Coaching For Parents

“If we use how we were taught yesterday to teach our children today, we are not preparing them well for tomorrow.” -Daniel Siegel.

Licensed clinicians seeking Lifespan Integration therapy for certification in LI. Please refer to this link to learn details regarding my work with clinicians. Lifespan Integration For Therapists

I hold certifications in The Gottman’s Institute, Bringing Baby Home, Perinatal Mental Health, Perinatal Support International (PSI), and Lifespan Integration (LI).

I do not offer couples therapy where the relationship is the identified concern.

  • Click the New Client Interest Form tab at the bottom of this page; please fill out and submit it. After this, I will notify you within a day or two to discuss further your needs and practice fit. If we agree to move forward with care and if one of my available appointment times works for you on an ongoing basis (weekly), I will schedule your intake, I will add you to my client portal, secure your weekly appointment time, and invite you to complete the intake and consent forms. These are all digital and don’t require printing or emailing me anything. Before your first appointment (and every appointment after that), you’ll receive a text message and email reminders of your scheduled appointment. If you have decided to do online therapy, I will email you with a link to our video session.

If I have a waitlist (and it’s open), it will be indicated on this page, and you’ll complete and submit a waitlist form. I’ll email you within a day or two to explain the waitlist process. Once I have an opening that works with your schedule, we will complete the process above.

  • 55-minute sessions are $195

Your first session will be an intake billed at $325. Completing all the digital paperwork before your visit will allow me sufficient time to review the information and be well-prepared at the start of your first session.

In compliance with the No Surprises Act, which was enacted on January 1, 2022, all healthcare providers must notify clients of their rights and protections against “surprise billing.” This Act requires that we notify you of your federally protected rights to receive a notification when services are rendered by an out-of-network provider, if you are uninsured, or if you elect not to use your insurance.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your therapy or counseling will cost. Click here for more information.

I am considered an “out-of-network provider” with PPO insurance, and you may be reimbursed in full or in part by your health insurance plan. I do not bill insurance directly. I am paid in full at the beginning of each session, and I will provide you with documentation “superbills,” a receipt for services rendered upon request if you decide to utilize your insurance. If indicated by your coverage, you can submit the “superbill” to receive personal reimbursement.

If knowing what your insurance will cover impacts whether you’d pursue therapy with me, please call your insurance company before contacting me to learn about your out-of-pocket expenses.

Here are some specific questions to clarify when calling your insurance provider.

Does my plan provide out-of-network reimbursement for mental health?

Is there a specific deductible I need to meet before you start to reimburse me?

How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

What percentage of the fee do you cover?

  • You have the option of telehealth. My online counseling platform uses secure video conferencing to enable face-to-face conversations. The video call is completely secure (HIPAA-protected) and confidential, and nothing is recorded or kept. When you schedule an appointment, I will send you a private, secure link via email, enabling you (and only you) to connect by video at the time of your appointment. The video platform is also available on an app, so you can use your tablet or smartphone to connect.

All you need is a device, internet connection, and a quiet and well-lit space with no distractions. A set of headphones or earbuds will improve the audio.

    Wednesdays 8:30 AM-2:30 PM

    Thursdays 8:30 AM-2:30 PM

    Fridays 7:30 AM-5:00 PM

I am out of the office on most major holidays.

  • My approach is very interactive, and we have your brain doing the heavy lifting during our time together. Your brain is wired for healing and repair, yet therapy still takes work! Even though we start treatment seeking change, change is often far more difficult than anticipated. Be patient, have faith in the process, and trust that discomforts are a sign of change. You will discover that your capacities and capabilities for managing whatever comes up in life will be enlarged and strengthened in the process.

I encourage you to make therapy a part of your life by reflecting on what we’ve discussed and doing the homework assigned. Don’t worry, no essay writing or algebra assignments here!

  • I have a 48-hour cancellation policy, requiring 48-hour advance notice to any session you are canceling. If a notice is not given, you will be charged the entire session fee. Your session time and date are scheduled for only you. Professional courtesy is asked in providing at least 48-hour notice to allow me the opportunity to fill the session time with another client. I appreciate your understanding of this policy. Of course, if you get sick or do not feel well, you are not subject to this policy. I hope you get some good rest and recover well.
